How the PIcArbs system works

ARBITRATION

 

Step 1:        Propose: send a proposal to arbitrate letter and the PIcArbs arbitration agreement to the other party

Step 2:        Sign: both lawyers and the arbitrator sign.

Step 3:        Register: on the e-filing site

                   www.PIcArbs.co.uk/filing.

Step 4:        Start: the Arbitration, e-file the Arbitration Agreement with a Summary of the Claim (pay the commencement fee £1,600 + VAT). 

                   Limitation stops running.

Then either: 

Step 5:        Plead: the case

Step 6:        e-file: your evidence.

Step 7:        Settle: the claim at a JSM or using Neutral Evaluation.

                   Or:     

                   Agree to stay the arbitration: and use the e-filing system to exchange evidence and settle the claim at a joint settlement meeting without any pleadings.

NEUTRAL EVAULATION

 

Step 1:        Propose: resolving the claim by Neutral Evaluation and send the other part the PIcArbs Neutral Evaluation Agreement.

Step 2:        Sign: both lawyers sign.

Step 3:        Register: on the e-filing site      www.PIcArbs.co.uk/filing.

Step 4:        e-file: open a case e-file and upload  your evidence (fees apply).

Step 5:        Either:

                   receive a written evaluation from the NEvaluator or

                   Settle: the claim at a meeting using Neutral Evaluation of the issues by the NEvaluator to reach settlement.
